Nice Day
"Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. Nice Day." is a series of patches and caps featuring our favourite food in the neighbourhood! We are proud that all the caps are made in Singapore. These designs were launched at Singaplural 2017 and retailed subsequently at the National Gallery & Co shop.
In 1945, at the tender age of 21, Jimmy's father started a hat-making company with his brothers. At one point, they were also making (safari) helmet hat for the British. As a young man, Jimmy learned the trade and craft from his dad, and took over the company in 1975. He was tasked to take their business to the next milestone, producing 'light-weight' caps for companies and events.

Green Mountain
There is no promise of prosperity in the store’s name, no tease that “eat you’ll know” or that it is carrot cake you will die for everyday. There is only the dream of green mountains where the air is crisp, the water is soft, and the trees are strong in the earth and in their yearning for the skies.

Cosmic Prata
Ramath’s family wakes up at half past three so that the store is ready to open by dawn. His wife prepares the curry while his daughter the dough. He chops the onions and checks on the supply of eggs and cheese. As a child, he prayed that he would one day work under the stars, surrounded by those he loves.

Winners Smell Good
Sheng Pin Xiang, ‘胜品香’, is run by Wing, or at least that was what he told us to call him. It’s a tough job, standing by the charcoal pit 8 hours a day. Wing does it, grumpily on most days, not just because it is his livelihood but because he believes – as we do – that his are the best BBQ chicken wings in the universe.

A Nice Day
On our island, we seek the best hawker food and boast of our favourite hawker stores with the same pride that a scout has for his hard-earned badges. Breakfast, lunch, dinner ... one day we'll transcend our daily foodie urges to dream loftier dreams, scale grander mountains, and reach further moons. Oh, wouldn't that be a nice day?
